Race report - Casper Marathon, June 2, 2019.
Marathon #101 in the books. The weather was perfect with a start temperature around 50 degrees and no wind.
My time was 3:23:52. I placed first in my age group and fifth overall. My training must have been solid as I never did hit the wall - felt good the entire race but did slow to an 8:15-8:30 pace for the last four miles.
The first 15 miles seemed to pass by quickly. My overall average pace was 7:47/mile. I’m not nearly as fast as I once was, but am very blessed and fortunate to still be running at my age.
No more marathons scheduled until September, October and November, so now I can slow down a bit and hit the high mountain trails.
